FABCAR Wins First-ever Daytona Prototype Chassis Manufacturers' Championship

November 2, 2003 - FABCAR was awarded the first-ever chassis manufacturer championship and Porsche the first-ever engine manufacturer championship for the new Daytona Prototype class today at the Grand Am year-end awards banquet.  These awards came as a result of the strong second and third place finishes in the drivers' standings by the Brumos Racing Nos. 58 and 59 cars, respectively.

"This is a fantastic result for us as a manufacturer," said Dave Klym, owner of FABCAR Engineering.  "We learned a lot about the car over the course of the season, and have plans to in place to improve it even more for next season.  FABCAR would like to extend its thanks to Brumos Racing, Cegwa Sports and PAP Parts for their confidence in our chassis."

The championship battle gets back underway January 3-5 at Daytona International Speedway with the traditional pre-season test session.  With 20-plus Daytona Prototypes expected to participate in the series next season, look for the competition to be even stiffer and the racers even tighter in 2004.
