| Fin-el Images Appear in Racecar Engineering Magazine |

- Images
developed by Fin-el will appear in the August 2004 issue of Racecar Engineering.
The images appear in conjunction with an article on rotary valve racing
engines. The images were developed for Fred Baldwin, President of
Rotary Tech and one of the principles of the article. Fred has
been a pioneer in rotary valve engines over the past 30 years and is now
on the verge of making his design a reality.
"Helping Fred progress towards his ultimate goal of implementing rotary valve technology into racing engines, particularly Formula 1 engines, has been a rewarding opportunity for us," states Jeff Berger, Director of Fin-el. "His concept is based on sound engineering principles, so it's only a matter of time before this technology is adopted by engine manufacturers." "Having Fin-el help us develop our concept has really allowed the project to take a big step forward," said Fred Baldwin. "Their work helping us develop a 3D computer model of the engine helped tremendously, especially in the valve details and locating and sizing the ancillary components. Fin-el we become even more involved as we move forward," Fred added. While the concept of rotary valves has been around almost since the internal combustion engine was invented, their use has been very limited because of the losses and inefficiencies associated with the them. With recent advances in materials and manufacturing techniques, the time has finally arrived for rotary valves to make their mark in engine design. Racecar Engineering is a monthly publication from the UK that reports on the technical aspects of motorsports.
